Tim Farr - Owner/Founder & Lead Guide
AMGA Certified Ice Instructor, Apprentice Alpine & Rock Guide
Originally from Michigan, I moved on to the wilds of Alaska soon after high school to guide expeditions from the seat of a Sea Kayak. It didn’t take long before looking up at all the mountains in Alaska soon turned to looking down from their summits! A love for rock climbing, ice climbing and mountaineering quickly took over and I found myself working playing nearly full-time in the mountains. Now nearly 20 years later I still look forward to waking up in a tent for that alpine start for a summit bid or a fun day of climbing at a local crag and working on skills.
With a Bachelors in Adventure Education and Wilderness Leadership and years of teaching skills courses in the higher education realm, I enjoy the more mentorship style approach to days in the wilderness.
My experience in the bigger ranges for extensive periods of time including the many ranges in Alaska, a trip to the Indian Himalaya, some time spent around the Mt. Cook region of New Zealand and time working in Antarctica in the deep-field, I’m equally at home at the crags in the backyard or in the remote wilderness many days from any form of civilization.
